Blepharoplasty
As we age, our natural collagen and skin elasticity diminishes. These changes are especially noticeable around the eyes. Excess skin and drooping in the eyelids becomes more common. The extra tissue may feel heavy and can also make you appear constantly tired. A blepharoplasty or eyelid surgery involves surgically removing excess skin and redistributing excess fat to give your eye area a refreshed and youthful appearance.
Dr. Loizides also performs Asian Eyelid Surgery, also known as Double Eyelid Surgery.
Blepharoplasties are often performed under local anesthetic and take approximately 60 to 90 minutes. This procedure is well tolerated and recovery is often relatively quick. Most patients can return to work within a few days. Some bruising and minor swelling can persist for two to three weeks.
